Uneven Ground: A Moving Towards

SJ Hodges had it all: an immensely successful career as an award-winning playwright, author, and TV writer/producer; a blissfully happy marriage to the love of her life; and a beautiful daughter. Then her forty-year-old husband was diagnosed with brain cancer. A year later, he was gone, leaving SJ reeling with grief and the undeniable realization that control was just an illusion. Leaving her life in LA behind, she and her young daughter moved to Hawaii, to grieve and heal. It was the beginning of a journey that would take them around the world. From dog-sledding in Colorado to an ayahuasca ceremony deep in the Amazon, SJ’s search for peace and happiness became more than therapy. It became a metaphysical journey into the unknown. SJ’s story of rage and resilience, healing and heartbreak, faith and forgiveness will resonate with those grieving, those who have survived, and those seeking answers to the biggest questions in life. Beautifully written, compelling, and evocative, Uneven Ground chronicles one woman’s transcendental quest to find her footing on life’s bumpy and unpredictable path in a story that is equal parts hilarious, devastating and inspiring. — ASIN: B0DHS7J3H3 | ISBN13: 9798332448447 | ISBN-13: 979-8332448447
